Our story

Twin Cities native Adam Ehlert knows teambuilding—even in a business where 30% success at the plate is a career! He spent the previous two decades owning and operating an award-winning minor league baseball team, the Kansas City T-Bones.

Upon the time of pandemic isolation, Ehlert was able to consider his lessons and practices from those years of building excellent front office teams (multiple league Organization of the Year awards), and meshing them with competitive teams on the baseball side (two Championships). In concert, the administrative, sales and baseball operations created a popular fan experience, garnering industry and local business accolades.

Ehlert chronicled some of the lighthearted, business-case anecdotes in a recent book: TEAMBUILDING: Easier in Business than in Baseball, which is available on Amazon. The book, in which Ehlert describes “(those experiences) have made me wiser, more proactive and evangelistic about teambuilding!” was the springboard for In-Tune Teambuilding.

Instead of athletic endeavors—which physically exclude a significant part of any business team—we developed a proprietary curriculum that uses music as the program’s pinion. This easy learning curve teaches teams to function together as a band. The curriculum is advised by a team of training, human resources and industry experts to ensure efficacy, uniformity and fun!

Ehlert previously wrote Atrial Frustration: A Cardiac Arrhythmia Saga¸ which debuted as Amazon’s #1 New Release in both Cardiac Disease and Cardiology. That story documented his many-years struggle with congenital heart problems that struck him at age 39. His musical inspiration is Sam Baker, who as a young man was critically injured in a terrorist bombing; in recovery, Baker then re-taught himself to listen, to hear, to play and to cherish each day.

Adam Ehlert has an extensive civic resume, including service as Rotary International District Governor 2017-18. He has a particular affinity for the Adult Congenital Heart Association, where he serves on their Patient and Family Advisory Board. He and his wife Heather live with Mina, their rescue Doberman, who has big shoes to fill; the couple’s previous dog, Moxie, was the Doberman Pinscher Club of America’s Rescue Dog of the Year for 2019. Ehlert holds a degree in Political Science from American University, in Washington, DC.
